Music Video Directors

John Landis
As well as directing films such as National Lampoon's Animal House, An American Werewolf in London and The Blues Brothers,Landis has also directed music videos such as Thriller and Black or White.

He specialises in directing comedy films and this comedic theme carries over into his music videos, for example this can be seen in the introduction to the Michael Jackson video Thriller, which guest stars Macaulay Culkin.

He also has combined comedic aspects of his films along with horror. For example this can be seen in his films such as An American Werewolf. He replicates this style with the iconic music video 'Thriller'.







Nigel Dick
Nigel Dick is a music video director and has directed music videos by artists in the rock genre such as Oasis, Paul McCartney and Black Sabbath. As well as videos in the pop genre by groups such as Backstreet Boys, The Wanted and The Pussycat Dolls. Dick specialises in music videos and has worked with a large amount of artists and specialises in all types of music, therefore his music videos do not have a reoccurring theme.


Spike Jonze
Spike Jonze is an American director, producer, screenwriter and actor, who as well as directing artists such as Kanye West, Jay-Z and Arcade Fire, he has co-produced Jackass and directed films such as 'Where the Wild Things Are'. He as well has directed a large range of genre of music videos and has even appeared in some of them such as 'Praise you'. He has often used comedy in his videos to make them more appealing to a wider range of music and to help change the image of the artist.
